I recommend you get to Bear Lake about 30 mins prior to sunrise since you must park your car and hike about 10 to 25 miles to Lake. It might take some time before you can find your ideal place.
11. Shuttle Bus
In busy summertime the National Parks Service provides shuttle service. They offer shuttles between the park and Bear Lake as well as many stops between the two. Parking spaces on certain trails fill early on the day (notably Bear Lake and glacier gorge) and you can get into these trails via stowed shuttle buses when you arrive too early.
