Probably my most favorite place to see and explore Germany is the historic Rothenburg-Ob der Tauber. This is one of Germany's attractive small towns situated in the center of beautiful Germany and is easily accessible to many big cities such as Frankfurt.

Rothenburg is known for offering excellent photos everywhere. Rothenburg, a village high above the Tauter River, escaped wars that destroyed many other old medieval towns and cities and has reclaimed most of the many original medieval buildings that are still there today.

22. Rothenburg ob der Tauber

It is famous for its magnificent medieval Old Town, quaintly restored architecture and picturesque cobbled streets and is a popular stop on the German Romantic Road. Rothenburg has an extensive Christmas shopping scene all year round. Overlooking the Tauber River, the French village seems to look like something of an old fairy tale.

It is home to some of the finest old buildings. Make a trip to Town Hall, where city governments were established in the medieval era. Take a trip through the stairs to the towering 13th-century hall and enjoy spectacular panoramic views of the city.
