01. Römerberg: Frankfurt's Old Town Center

The Römerberg is an irregular square with a justice fountain (the Gerechtigungsbrunnen) in center. Not only are there many beautiful places to visit including Christmasmarket and other events. Among the attractions in the vicinity are the numerous open-fronted shops once prevalent throughout the old city, and Römer.

In Frankfurt's Senkenberg Gardens, the Senkenberg Natural History Museum or Nature Museum of Senckenberg is the modernest natural history museum in Europe. 06. Goethe House and Museum

It became the birth home for the great German writer Johann Wolfgang von Goethe. His home, The House of Goethe where Goethe was born and lived until 1764 - shows what the wealthy family lived like. It's all there.

The exquisite dining room is located on the upper floor and the Goethes Writingroom on the upper level in which he penned many of his early works and where he was playing in puppet theater as a young child.

Eiserner Steg 603111 Frankfurt am Main. Another famous photograph spot is Eiserner Steg, a steel and concrete stairway across Main. This NeoGothic bridge links Frankfurts historic centre with the district of Sachsenhausen.

09. Frankfurt Cathedral

The Catholic Roman Catholic Frankfurt Cathedral or Frankfurt Dom as it was originally called St Bartholomew Cathedral or Dome St Bartoholomeus Cathedral is certainly distinguished with the lovely colour. In Gothic style the cathedral was built from red sand between 14th century, and the tower is 95m high.

It is the only German church that has been renamed an Imperial Cathedral. The coronation took place here between 1562 and 1792 at the electoral chapel. The old opera houses (Alt Oper) have been built in 1880 in a style inspired by the Italian haute Renaissance. Destructed in WW II, it was reopened in 1981 as a major concert venue.
