The Gold Coast is a tourist attraction that attracts many visitors from all walks of life in Australia and it's one for all. Home to over 900 species of plants and dozens of animals, visitors can explore Springbrook National Park and its pristine forest and waterfalls and enjoy the peaceful hike to Lamington National Park in a natural setting.
01. Take in the views from the SkyPoint Observation Deck
A hike up Skypoint observation decks are incredibly popular on the Gold Coast. We're sure you're sure the 230m elevation will give you a breathtaking view. The Skypoint Observatory Deck is located at Q1, one of Australia's best known Skyscrapers.
Q1 is rated as the highest building in Australia at more than 300 metres and has long held the title of the highest structure in the world. In the elevator you reach 77th Street Q1, where you will enjoy an uninterrupted view across the whole Gold Coast.

02. Coolangatta Beach
Coolangatta Beach near the New South Wales border offers an easier way to relax than the touristy Surfers Paradise beaches. The location is 30 minutes away from Surfers Beach. Spending the day on the bare, soaking sand is the best thing on the Gold Coast free.
Coolangatta is a town located at the Goldside Airport. So the beach is very close when traveling by air. When looking at a map of the Gold Coast, the coast facing north is typically calmer, with excellent water conditions.

03. Get a picture cuddling a koala at Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary
You will have the opportunity of meeting the best animals in Australia! See giant sea crocodiles, a wild Tasmanian Devil, spiny echidnes and many other animals. To get a little more immersive, give food to colorful lorikeets, kangaroos and koala before you get to hold them.
04. Join a Whale Watching Tour
From May to September whale populations have risen from the east coast to the west coast. In fact a million of humpback whales migrate to the warmer waters of the Great Barrier Reef and will eventually stop and rest on Gold Coast.
The Pacific Ocean near Gold Coast became an ideal destination for observing these magnificent marine mammals. If you're visiting during whale watch season, you could join an excursion from Surfers Paradise or elsewhere along the coast.

05. Waddle with the penguins at Sea World
SeaWorld has plenty of fun attractions to explore for both kids and parents. There's nothing like seeing a sea animal on a trip there. Fluffy polar bears or sharply spotted sharks roam in the glass — although you could take an adventure by walking on the ice with the penguins or taking the water with the dolphins.

06. Explore the Gold Coast Hinterland with a trip to Tamborine Mountain
Gold Coast might be known as the beach destination but look up inland and you'll discover some amazing sites in Hinterland. The Gold Coast Hinterland, nicknamed the ‘Green Behind gold’, has rainforests, mountain peaks and national forests.
For an overview of the hinterland you should visit Tamborine Mountain which is located just a 45-minute drive from Surfers Paradise. It will be immediately noticeable if Tamborine Mountain drops above sea level. It's a welcome respite from all the heat on the Gold Coast, with many accommodation alternatives.

07. Burleigh Heads Beach
Swimming and surfing are some great activity options on Burleigh Head Beach. This enviable piece of soft, white sandy beach is split between Surfers Paradise and Coolangatta. Surfers generally make their bee line for the famous pointbreak on the north side of the headlands although surfing on the beach breaks on the outer shoreline is possible.
Swimming can only go to a few areas patrolled by lifeguards in Burleigh and North Burleigh. It's also a very pleasant beach. The park near the beach provides barbecues as well as picnic areas and you can visit a number of cafes just a few minutes from the beach.

08. Kirra Beach
Kirra Beach is an excellent beach on the Gold Coast. The place is located at the edge of Coolangatta Beach and has been popular for many family visits. Swimming and sunbathing in this area and standing paddle board are popular activities as are many restaurants and shops nearby.
Kirra was previously an excellent place on the Gold Coast, but beach erosion has demolished the famed right-angle line. The strong storm surge attracts however the avid surfer. Kirra Reef is one of the top dive sites near the beaches.

09. Take in the views at Point Danger
Continue the coast south from Surfers Paradise through Coolangatta until you reach Gold. You can drive or bicycle and enjoy miles of beaches along the way until you reach the end of the Gold Coast. Point Danger represents Queensland's southernmost region.
Follow the Boundary Street to Stand in Queensland before crossing the border to Queensland. Point Danger – an impressive headland that rises above the Pacific Ocean – is a picturesque place where one can admire the skyscrapers of Surfers Paradise.

10. Eat a lamington at Lamington National Park
You may have seen lamington a popular Australian baked cake which is popular among bakers and birthday parties throughout America alongside pavlova, coconut ice, fairybread and other ingredients.
Many visitors on Gold Coast ask Lamington National Park the first questions when they discover it; its name came from Lord Lamington, whose family lived in the National Park.

11. Take a day trip to Springbrook National Park
Springbrook is an excellent day trip destination and boasts heritage-protected forests and the natural arch waterfall flowing through a basalt cave. Bring your finest hiking shoes for this beautiful Numinbah Valley walk.

The Nerang flows through the popular Surfers Paradise. You can travel through a series of parks along the Gold Coast beaches to the monolithic skyscraper and there are a few interesting rest stops along the way. Various tour options feature photographers taking photographs of you and smiling!
13. Shop till you drop at the Pacific Fair Shopping Centre's 400 stores
Whilst the Gold Coast is a beautiful place to visit, travelers will never pass past many stores or markets which hold most exquisite clothing, accessories, decors, and other items. Harbourtown Gold Coast provides the best choice for larger retail spaces.
However nothing beats Surfers Paradise's Market at the beach. It features dozens of stalls located on the shore and has daily opening hours from 4 pm to 9 pm.

14. Take a nocturnal Glow Worm tour
The 4-wheeler takes you back into the rainforest as it becomes vivid as you've never experienced before. Among the most spectacular areas in the rainforest are the glowing worm caves, in which thousands of worms enter the cave to light them up like tins on the sky. Pro tip: Bring hiking boots and a rainjacket for rainy weather.

15. Ride the SkyCoaster at Wet'n'Wild
Our Wild waterslides offer unobstructed waterslips that twist, turn and fall. Before you tackle that or enjoy a relaxing dip in an ocean, try the Skycoaster. Stripped into this wild ride, you will rise 160 feet to a height of 180 meters, take a deep breath, pull up the rope and if you can, jump into it.
16. Join a jet ski safari to South Stradbroke Island
The south coast of South Stradbroke Island is a nature preserve famous for the wild wildlife and wallabies. However South Stradbroke Island has very limited accessible beaches due specifically to its proximity to the mainland.
You don't need a car here, only the only way to reach this island would be by private boat/boat taxi. Jet Ski tours are an exciting way to discover South Stradbroke Island. You will leave Gold Coast and then drive north to the coast.

17. Ride the Batwing Spaceshot at Warner Bros Movie World
Movieworld offers plenty of fun including DC Rivals — the largest HyperCoaster in southern Asia — and Batwing Spaceshot that takes 200ft up to almost 45 mph. There are many more enjoyable and more relaxing options that are not your thing.
18. Chase waterfalls at Lamington National Park
Lamington Park features nearly 500 waterfalls, but the most famous is Chalahn Falls. It's a 10-mile hike along the Toolona Creek Circuit with occasionally muddy mud (bringing mudboots). It's worth muddy shoes however, because only the eight crystalline cascading waterfalls are there otherwise there are many trails for hiking.

19. Ride a Segway to the iconic Surfers Paradise sign
Segway is relatively easy to use and an enjoyable place in Gold Coast. Ask your guide to get your picture before cruising on the sunny Main beaches towards McIntosh Island to test your Segway.
20. Spend a day at a Gold Coast Theme Park
Gold Coast has the same characteristics to Florida, California and Las Vegas. There is a casino, beach and surfing, and there's a theme park! The best vacation destination to suit everyone.
Gold Coast is widely acknowledged as the theme park capital of Australia, but the choices are tough. Movie fans may want to buy Warners tickets. Film World is an area to ride rollercoasters like Batman Escape and enjoy classic characters like Bugs Bunny.

We suggest visiting Carrara Market for an authentic and local shopping experience. Carrara Markets have the largest markets around the Gold Coast. They only have hours available on weekends and holidays between 8 and 10 a.m., so schedule your trip accordingly.
Over a hundred different stalls are open during the weekend and offer customers an excellent range of local products. Almost 400 stalls have been built over 25 acres ranging from clothing stores to jewelry stores.

26. Watch the sunrise in a hot air balloon
It's worth setting your alarm for sunrise as it's amazing how far the sun is above Mount Tamborine National Park. Afterwards the driver takes you to the cab for the morning coffee as a gift for getting ready to sleep.

The Australian Outback Spectacle shows the Australian Outback on Queensland's tropical coastline. It is funny and entertaining, making for an interesting and fun evening on Goldside.
